Ghanaian centre-back Rockson Yeboah has secured a move to Swedish Allsvenskan club IFK Goteborg, as officially confirmed by the club.
The 20-year-old defender, who previously endured an unsuccessful loan spell with Greek side AEK Athens, has now been recruited by the Swedish giants for the 2024-25 season.
Goteborg announced the signing with excitement, describing Yeboah as a key addition to their defensive lineup.
Though the exact length of his contract has not been disclosed, the club confirmed it is a multi-year deal.
The management at Gamla Ullevi Stadium shared their enthusiasm, stating:
"Rockson Yeboah is done. Our new centre-back is from Ghana, 20 years old, and has signed a multi-year contract with IFK Goteborg."
"We have received excellent references, which give us confidence that he will integrate well into our squad", Goteborg's manager Ola Larrson said.
Yeboah himself expressed his excitement about joining the club, stating, "It is a very big opportunity for me to represent such a well-known club as IFK Goteborg.
"I am very much looking forward to moving to Gothenburg and meeting my new teammates."
The club also announced that Yeboah's work permit process is underway with the Swedish Migration Agency, and they expect him to be available for selection in the coming weeks.
