English League one side Northampton Town fc have announced the signing of Ghanaian international Tariqe Fosu.
Fosu, 28, has signed a one-year contract with the Cobblers and could make his debut in Saturday’s Sky Bet League One clash against Bristol Rovers.
The Ghanaian international joins Northampton Town after an extended period without competitive action, following a failed move to Turkish Super League club Hatayspor from Brentford.
Despite a spell on trial with MLS side Charlotte FC and training with former club Charlton, Fosu was left without a club until now.
Northampton Town manager Jon Brady is excited about the club's latest addition, Tariqe Fosu, praising the winger's impressive pedigree.
Brady believes Fosu's experience and quality make him a valuable signing for the Cobblers.
The winger has accumulated over 250 senior appearances, including time with Brentford, Stoke City, and Rotherham United, as well as successful stints in League One with Charlton and Oxford United.
“Tariqe has a lot of ability and quality and we are really pleased to welcome him to Sixfields,” said Brady. “He has pace, is very good on the ball, and can play in several positions across the pitch. His pedigree from playing at Championship level speaks for itself.”
Brady added that Fosu’s creative and attacking style could significantly contribute to the team’s success, and he is confident that the supporters will warmly welcome the new signing.
