New Black Stars skipper Jordan Ayew has revealed that leading the Black Stars was bound to happen.
In an interview with Joy Sports, the Leicester City man said that the signs were clear from the beginning for him to lead the team.
"I believe in destiny. I believe [becoming Ghana captain] was probably written in the stars."
Jordan's appointment as captain marks a historic milestone, following in the footsteps of his brother Andre Ayew and father Abedi Pele.
The former Olympique Marseile forward will be leading the Black Stars as they take on Chad on Friday night at the Accra Sports Stadium on matchday 5 of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
Jordan Ayew has over 100 caps for the Black Stars since his debut in 2010 and will be hoping to help Ghana bounce back from a disappointing Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign.
