The Royal Ladies of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) wrapped up the 2025 Salpholda Hockey League season in style, finishing unbeaten after 10 matches at the Theodosia Okoh Hockey Pitch. Amassing 33 points, the champions proved unstoppable, sweeping aside opponents in both rounds of the competition.
Their remarkable run capped off a season of total domestic dominance, having earlier lifted the T. Tommy Tournament in Kumasi and the Afahye Cup in Cape Coast. With attacking firepower unmatched, the Royal Ladies also led the scoring charts in the Women’s Division, with prolific stars Elizabeth Opoku, Mavis Berko, and Vivian Narkuor topping the goal scorers list.
Technical team member Mr. Joseph Abaidoo hailed the achievement; “we’ve had a wonderful season, winning all domestic competitions from T. Tommy to Afahye and now the league. Our team worked hard to achieve this unbeaten run and have proven that we are not just local champions but international ones as well. Other teams gave us a run for our money, but hard work overturned the results. We are now preparing for Africa, and with hard work, dedication, and perseverance, we will defend our Africa title, too.”
On the men’s side, GRA finished second on the league table on the head-to-head rule despite tying on 27 points with the eventual winners. Though they conceded the most goals in the season, the men’s side managed to end strongly.
Attention now shifts to the upcoming Hockey Knockout competition and the Africa Cup for Club Championship, where the Royal Ladies will look to defend their continental crown just as convincingly as they retained the league title.
