Ghana’s Under-19 Girls Team delivered a commanding performance at the 2025 ITTF African Youth Championships, securing a resounding 3-0 victory over Benin in their team event clash.

 

Ghana’s Under-19 Girls Team delivered a commanding performance at the 2025 ITTF African Youth Championships, securing a resounding 3-0 victory over Benin in their team event clash.

In the opening match, Emerald Bortey overcame a second-set stumble to defeat Amadji Christelle in four sets (11-2, 6-11, 11-2, 11-3), earning Ghana the first point with a 3-1 win.

Next on the table was Emmanuella Yaa Kyere, who showed great composure and consistency, bouncing back from an early setback to outplay Mayaki Emmanuella in four sets (11-13, 11-8, 11-8, 11-9). Her dominant performance extended Ghana’s lead to 2-0.

The final match saw Philipa Aidoo in action against Amadji Christelle. In a tightly contested battle, Philipa held her nerve in key moments to edge out her opponent in straight but hard-fought sets (13-11, 11-6, 15-13), sealing the overall victory for Ghana with a 3-0 team scoreline.

With this win, Ghana’s Under-19 girls have made a bold statement of intent as they progress in the championship. Their blend of skill, determination, and teamwork was evident throughout the match, setting the tone for future fixtures.
