Ghanaian forward Benjamin Acquah played a crucial role in Helsingborg's 3-1 victory over Skovde AIK in the Swedish Superettan on Saturday afternoon.
This win marked Helsingborg's first triumph against Skovde AIK, who had previously won twice and drawn once in their encounters.
Helsingborg controlled the game with superior possession and more shots on target. Acquah, who started and played the full 90 minutes, was key to the team's success.
Although Skovde AIK's Hugo Engstrom opened the scoring in the 28th minute, Acquah orchestrated a brilliant combination with Adrian Svanbäck to assist Dennis Olsson for the equalizer.
Just before halftime, Olsson delivered a corner kick that Jon Birkfeldt headed into the net, giving Helsingborg the lead. Two minutes later, Acquah seized on a defensive mistake to score and extend Helsingborg's lead to 3-1.
Acquah has been in fine form this season, contributing three goals and two assists in 19 appearances in the 2024 Swedish Superettan.
