Black Queens and Molde FK midfielder Evelyn Badu has sent a strong message ahead of the 2025 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), declaring Ghana’s intent to approach every group stage match with an unshakeable winning mentality.

Speaking AyishaTv about Ghana’s chances in a competitive group, Badu said:
“Every team in our group is tough, but we’ll approach each match with the same winning mentality; we’re going in to win.”

The former CAF Young Player of the Year’s comments reflect the high level of belief and determination running through the Black Queens camp as they gear up for the continental showdown.

Ghana has been drawn into a challenging group, with formidable opponents who have proven themselves in past tournaments. But Badu remains unfazed, stressing the importance of consistency, focus, and unity.

“We respect our opponents, but we also know what we bring to the table,” she added. “It’s about staying disciplined and playing with heart. We owe it to our fans, our country, and ourselves to fight for every point.”

Currently playing for Norwegian side Molde FK, Badu brings international experience and a calm midfield presence that will be vital to Ghana’s WAFCON campaign. Her blend of composure and competitive edge makes her one of the key figures in Coach Nora Häuptle’s squad.

The Black Queens are chasing their first-ever WAFCON title, having reached the final three times without clinching the crown. But with the likes of Badu leading the charge, optimism is high that 2025 could be the year history is rewritten.

As kickoff approaches, the message from the Ghana camp is loud and clear, every match is a must-win, and the Queens are ready to give everything for glory.
