Team Ghana’s Men’s Volleyball and Handball Teams produced impressive performances on Day 3 of the ongoing ANOCA Zone 3 Games in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, recording victories over the host nation on Wednesday.

The Men’s Volleyball Team continued their fine run with a convincing 3–0 sets win against Burkina Faso at 4 p.m. The Ghanaians dominated all three sets, winning 24–16, 24–22, and 24–18, silencing the home supporters who had filled the Stade du Aout. The victory marks their second consecutive win in the competition.

Later in the evening, the Men’s Handball Team also faced Burkina Faso after narrowly losing their opening match to Niger (34–35). Ghana trailed 11–12 at halftime but mounted a spirited comeback in the second half to clinch a 25–24 victory, sending waves of excitement through the Ghanaian camp.

Team captain Yaw Fyn expressed his joy after the match, describing the win as a result of unity, determination, and faith; "the euphoria and excitement are overwhelming because we came into this game as underdogs. Everything was against us, the referees, match delegates, and supporters were all from Burkina Faso, so we knew we had only ourselves to trust. Everyone gave their maximum effort, and by God’s grace, we won. We’ll take it one game at a time. Every match is a final to us.”

Both the Volleyball and Handball Men’s Teams are scheduled to face Togo on Thursday, October 16, in their next fixtures.

Earlier in the day, Ghana’s Chef de Mission, Team Manager, and other officials held a technical meeting with the contingent to check on their wellbeing and motivate them to keep their fighting spirit high until the final day of the competition.
