Head coach of the Black Stars, Otto Addo has given reasons for the omission of in-form left back Baba Abdul Rahman from his squad for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers.
Addressing the press in Accra on Wednesday, coach Addo confirmed that he has been in contact with the left back for sometime now and he’s still not ready to return.
"I have seen his performances. At the moment he is not ready to come back. What happened in Kumasi affected him and his family a lot," Addo explained.
Despite Rahman's absence, Addo acknowledges his importance, stating, "We would have needed him very much. I had a long talk with him and I even wanted to fly there but he was sure he wouldn’t change his mind."
Baba Rahman enjoyed a successful season with PAOK, contributing nine goals in their Greece Super League triumph.
